American Aero was contracted by the Air Force to restore a M-8 PGM-11 Redstone Missile for display at the Air Force Space and Missile Museum in Florida.

Redstone Lift & Transport The Redstone was lifted and left on its display stands for transport to American Aero’s facility in New Smyrna Beach

Stripping Paint and Repair of the Fins The paint was removed with hi pressure water blasting and contained in a reservoir for proper disposal of the residue. After paint removal all corroded areas were repaired along with the fabrication of fins and new nozzle guide vanes

Redstone repairs and restoration After the Redstone was stripped, the damaged exterior skin was restored and the access panels to the interior were opened for preservation. All of the removed and replaced skin was documented thru photos and drawings for future reference

Nozzle Guide Vanes There were two missing nozzle guide vanes on the Redstone, American Aero fabricated two new pieces for the restoration

Paint and Markings The Air Force Space and Missile Museum prides themselves in restoring missiles and spacecraft to their original markings while being tested at the Cape. This Redstone was restored to represent a missile that had previously flown from C.C.A.F.S.

Delivery The Redstone was returned to the Cape for display at the museums hanger

Fins The fins that had their skin corroded away were restored back to their original look
